Prescription Order Questions & Answers
Yes. You can send in your existing glasses and we'll fit them with prescription lenses. To begin, please complete the online form so we can gather your details and assign an order number. The system will guide you through each step of the process from start to finish.
Absolutely. We carry a broad selection of designer eyeglasses and sunglasses. When you choose a frame, you'll see an option to “Add Lenses” where you can customize your prescription by selecting lens type, material, and coatings. You'll then be asked to email or fax your prescription to us. Once your order is confirmed, our system walks you through the remaining steps, and your completed eyewear is typically shipped from our lab within about 7–10 days.
If you prefer not to enter prescription values manually, you can simply scan or take a clear photo of your prescription and send it to our sales team by email or fax it to (818) 698-7001 after you place your order. Be sure to include your order number in the email or write it at the top of the prescription if you fax it, so we can match it with your purchase.

Yes, many sunglass styles can be made with prescription lenses. Most of the brands we offer can be fitted with your Rx, giving you sun protection and clear vision in one pair. We stock a variety of sunglasses specifically designed to be prescription-ready.
We provide a wide variety of lens options for both eyeglasses and sunglasses. These include ready-made magnification lenses, single-vision lenses for distance or reading, traditional bifocals, and progressive (no-line) multifocal lenses. This allows you to choose lenses that match your prescription and lifestyle needs.
There are many lens manufacturers and specialty coatings on the market, and we can usually accommodate special requests. We don't list every possible combination of materials, brands, and treatments to avoid overwhelming shoppers, but we can order virtually any lens brand or coating by request. If your eye doctor quoted a high price for specific lenses, contact us and we'll do our best to match or improve that price with a more affordable alternative than typical retail optical stores.
If you don't currently have your written prescription, there are still options. With your permission, we can contact your eye doctor and request that they send your prescription directly to us. Your prescription belongs to you, and you're entitled to a copy. Another option is to send us a pair of glasses or sunglasses you see well with; we can read the prescription from your lenses using a digital lensometer. If you mail us your frame, please remember to include your order number inside the package.
Your prescription is your personal record, and you have the right to obtain a copy. A doctor is not allowed to withhold your prescription from you. Regulatory agencies enforce prescription release rules, and eye care providers who do not comply may face penalties. If you encounter issues, remind your doctor of your rights and request your prescription in writing.
Bifocal and progressive lenses both allow you to see at more than one distance, but they look different. Traditional bifocals have a noticeable line and a small segment near the bottom for reading. Progressive lenses (sometimes called “no-line bifocals” or “invisible bifocals”) gradually change power from top to bottom, so you can see distance, intermediate, and near without a visible separation line.
Pupillary Distance (PD) is the measurement, in millimeters, from the center of one pupil to the center of the other. It ensures that the optical centers of your lenses line up correctly with your eyes. Accurate PD measurement is important for comfortable, clear vision. Online eyewear retailers typically do not process insurance directly at checkout. In most cases, you can submit a copy of your invoice to your insurance company and request reimbursement for prescription lenses and eligible frame costs. Some plans also allow us to provide the invoice directly to them. If you need assistance with this process, we'll gladly help so you can make the most of your coverage.
Orders involving prescription lenses—whether for eyeglasses, sunglasses, or lens replacement—are treated as custom work. These do not follow the standard 72-hour processing for non-prescription items. Prescription jobs typically require up to seven business days before shipping. Once your lenses are finished and your order is ready to ship, you'll receive a tracking number so you can follow your package online.
Prescription lenses are made specifically to the details you provide or send to us. Each pair is checked during production to confirm that the prescription and cosmetics meet our standards. Because these lenses are custom-made, frames with prescription lenses cannot be returned for a refund. If you believe the lenses do not match your doctor's original prescription, we can remake them once a third party confirms that the Rx is incorrect. You have 7 days to notify us of a problem and 14 days to return the eyewear for a recheck if needed. Refunds are not available on prescription lens work.
We understand that ordering prescription eyewear online can be challenging, especially if you haven't tried the frame on in person. While the cost of the lenses is non-refundable, we do our best to find a suitable solution on a case-by-case basis. In some situations, we may be able to make new lenses for a different frame at a discounted price and then accept the original frame under our standard return policy for non-prescription eyewear. For any such special situation, please contact our customer service team so we can review your options.
Once a prescription order is submitted, several steps begin right away: frames are requested from our suppliers, lenses are ordered from the lab, and production of your custom lenses may already be underway. Because of this, prescription orders cannot be canceled once they are in progress.
